Post 7 Tech Topic Connection

The tech topic that I chose How Computers Operate, ties into the fundamentals of information technology because it is crucial for anyone in the IT field to understand how a computer functions or how other forms of hardware/software operate. Computers are getting more advanced every year at an alarming rate, which also means that the understanding of how to use a computer or its new software can change at any given time just like how the understandings of computers and the size of computers has changed over the years from computers the size of rooms to computers that can comfortably lay on our laps or on our desks. Computers get more advanced, which means the hardware inside is also advancing.

In recent years, GPUs have had an exponential increase in size. This is because of increased performance. This increased performance also means increased power draw, and increased power draw leads to more heat being generated, so to combat this, companies put bigger heat sinks on the GPU, which in turn, make it larger while also dissipating the heat more efficiently.

All computers around the world, regardless of how old, big, or small, use programming languages in the background, even if you don't recognize or know it. Without these programming languages, computers would not be able to function, and without software, the hardware inside the computer would not know what to do or how to perform any tasks that are being inputted. An example of this would be to imagine that you know the alphabet; however, you do not know how to form or make words with the alphabet.
